What Is Full-Arch?
Restoring an Entire Arch of Teeth
Full-arch implant restoration is a treatment that replaces an entire upper or lower arch of missing or failing teeth using just four to six strategically placed dental implants. Commonly referred to by names such as All-on-4 or All-on-6, this approach supports a full fixed prosthesis — a complete set of teeth that is permanently anchored to the implants and does not come in or out like traditional dentures.
The implants are placed at precise angles to maximize contact with available bone, often eliminating the need for extensive bone grafting even in patients with significant bone loss. The result is a stable, comfortable, and natural-looking set of teeth that restores full chewing function, speech, and confidence. For many patients, a provisional set of teeth can be delivered on the same day as surgery — a life-changing transformation achieved in a single appointment.
Benefits
Why Patients Choose Full-Arch
- Fixed and non-removable — unlike traditional dentures, full-arch restorations are anchored securely and stay in place during eating, speaking, and sleeping.
- Dramatically improved chewing function — patients can enjoy a wide variety of foods, including those that were impossible with loose or uncomfortable dentures.
- Bone preservation — the implants stimulate the jawbone just like natural tooth roots, preventing the bone resorption that accelerates with denture wear over time.
- Natural appearance — the final prosthesis is custom-designed to match your facial features and provide a beautiful, proportional smile.
- Long-term durability — with proper care and maintenance, full-arch restorations can last many years, making them one of the most durable and cost-effective tooth replacement options available.
- Immediate results in many cases — many patients leave surgery with a functional provisional prosthesis the same day, dramatically reducing the time spent without teeth.
The Journey
What Full-Arch Treatment Looks Like
The process begins with a comprehensive consultation and 3D cone beam CT imaging to evaluate your bone volume, anatomy, and overall oral health. Our surgical team works closely with your restorative dentist to develop a coordinated treatment plan that defines implant positions, prosthesis design, and the overall timeline before any surgery takes place.
On surgery day, any remaining failing teeth are extracted, the implants are placed, and — in qualifying cases — a provisional prosthesis is attached the same day. Over the following three to six months, osseointegration occurs as the implants fuse with the bone. Once confirmed, your final custom prosthesis is fabricated and delivered by your restorative dentist. The entire journey from consultation to final teeth typically spans six to twelve months, depending on your individual anatomy and treatment needs. Our team supports you at every stage with detailed instructions, follow-up visits, and compassionate, attentive care.
